What am I going to do for this year?

Welcome to my second blog! This is the continuation of my first blog where I introduce myself. Since this is the continuation, let’s talk about New Year’s Resolution.

First of all, I have to admit that I have broken a lot in the past. It is just last year when I started holding myself accountable for my life. I read it somewhere that if you see New Year Resolutions as contracts, your mind automatically perceives it very seriously. And that’s what I have been doing since last year. I sign my name at the bottom of the list. No regrets to this day. I highly recommend it.

Before I can start talking about this year’s resolution, I want to dedicate this part to 2021, where, luckily, I put my life back together, even better that is. Fortunately, I tallied all of my achievements. Here they are:

2021 ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Read a total of 16 books

    • 6 of which are self-development

    • 10 of which are fictions

  • Published my first proper story (fan-fiction)

  • Published my first proper story for the DPSN SERIES

  • Attained 11 vocational certificates

    • 4 of which are related to photography

    • 4 of which are related to creative writing

    • 3 of which are related to effective communications

  • Established my habits and built a system

Yeah, I’m confident to say I’ve been pretty busy last year. And I’d like to thank the pandemic for it. For this year, I plan to be busier. Here is my 2022 list:

  • Maintain and improve habits

  • Maintain and improve skillsets

  • Read more books compared to the previous total

  • Publish my second story for the DPSN SERIES

  • Start the first draft of my third story for the DPSN SERIES

  • Publish my first blog

  • Try something new (blogging doesn’t count)

  • Stay optimistic

  • Keep investing

It’s not much and it looks like it isn’t fun either. But, I’ve become accustomed to it. You’ll notice that most of it are generalized, especially the “read more books” part. Why? I tend to stop and procrastinate when I achieved something too specific. For example, if I were to plan to read 30 books and did it with a few more months to spare, I’ll automatically be lazy and not bother reading anything more than 30. And being lazy for a long time is not my cup of tea.

Instead, I put it in a general way. It’s like running through a marathon, only there isn’t any finish line. However, if you keep going, you’ll eventually, or not even know it, you’ll break your record.

In conclusion, this year is going to be even more active. It’ll be chaos. But I always know I will eventually shrug it off and keep going. And to keep myself satisfied and avoid any drop of impostor syndrome along the way, I’ll keep track of my 2022 New Year Resolution and tally them at the end like the previous year.

Good luck to myself and to everyone who plans to be better this year!
